Current Project Cars
The project car pages provide a method to document the work performed on several cars in the shop.
1978 Chevrolet Camaro
This is a 1978 Camaro mild custom. It started out as a six-cylinder California car nicely optioned. This project consisted of a rotisserie restoration along with many custom body modifications. The most noticeable is the shaved door handles. When completed it was painted mariner blue basecoat with multiple clearcoat layers. It was finished with custom black interior with late model seats. It is powered by a 406 small block with a 4L60 transmission. It rides on B F Goodrich Radial T/A 235/60R15 tires mounted on American Racing Torq-thrust D wheels. It has new wiring front to back.
1967 Pontiac GTO
This is a 1967 Pontiac GTO. This project will be done as a tribute to one that I owned new in 1967. While my original car was mariner turquoise, this car is regimental red with parchment interior. It is optioned exactly like the one I originally had. It is powered by a 400 cubic inch engine with a Rochester Quadrajet originally rated at 335 horsepower. Now displacing 407 cubic inches and with other modifications it now exceeds the factory output. The transmission is a four-speed with Hurst Competition Plus shifter. It rides on B F Goodrich Radial T/A 235/60R15 tires mounted on Pontiac Rally II wheels. It doesn't have power steering, brakes or air-conditioning. Starting with a car that looks very rough it should be a nice car when completed.
1969 Corvette Stingray
This is a 1969 Corvette Stingray coupe. When completed this car will have significant upgrades but will appear completely stock to the casual observer. The only noticeable external modification is the use of a 1979 long hood to eliminate the wiper door. Under the hood is stock looking with the noticeable elimination of the wiper door vacuum actuator and vacuum hoses to headlight doors and all associated leaks. The headlight doors are controlled by linear actuators. The engine is a 4 bolt main engine out of a 1976 Suburban bored to 355ci. The transmission is a Gearstar 200-4R stage 2. The all black interior is custom with 1979 seats and reconfigured dash, instrument panel and console. The paint is a basecoat/clearcoat Corvette Elkhart blue. It rides on B F Goodrich Radial T/A 235/60R15 tires mounted on Corvette rally wheels. While all other cars are to be sold this one is a keeper.
